Locals are shocked when they find out that Fort Worth has the largest city-owned nature center in the U.S. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will show your grandchildren what the metroplex might look like if a huge city had not grown up here. You and your little hikers will enjoy the trail system and scenic views. You can also volunteer to help with wildlife surveys and grassland restoration.

Hours:October to April 8am to 5pm; May to September, Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 7am to 7pm
